Previously I would have recommended this theater as 5 stars. It wasn't the prettiest or nicest theater, but it was the best deal in town when it came to watching a movie or a cheap date. $2 to $2.50 per ticket was a steal, even if the movies were headed out of theaters.
I'm sorry, but I can't justify spending over 3 times more money that what they previously charged, just so that I can see a movie in a run-down theater. I'm glad they're offering a "value" compared to the $12+ ticket prices of the larger theaters but the infamous Columbus "Dollar Theater" is no more.
First of all, we were going to a 10:10 showing. We walked in at exactly 10:23 to a young female (Jaqualin) slamming her hand on the counter and complaining to another young female (Morgan) that we were even coming in. When we tried to purchase concessions the only available options were soda and nachos. No candy was available. They had already disposed of the popcorn. Pretzels were not available. It's 10:30 and the movie has not started so why would the concessions be cut off this early? That's a loss of sales. If my husband had not wanted to see Logan again I would have gladly just gone to the regular theatre. I don't feel that sitting with trash from a previous movie, dirty restrooms, attitude about coming in to purchase tickets, and no concessions is worth saving a few dollars when the other theatres in town have no problem providing concessions or clean viewing areas.
Now that Carmike is out and AMC is the new owner, they've adjusted the focus of the theater to show current movies at a higher (or discounted depending on how you look at it) price.
This place is average. I suggest they work more on cleanliness. Also I suggest a upgrade the theater as a whole. As far as decorations, food condiments, and projection.
We love to come here to watch movies! The prices are lower and now they are showing some of the new movies that have been released. Helps when you have a big family
This theater was the dollar theater and does not compare to the other newer theaters however charge the same price as them now.... my twins’ first job was here while my first job was carmike 7... we we 16... Carmike 7 has shut down long ago and is now an Aisian Church. This is 22 years ago we worked there..... upgrade or charge less!!!!! It does not compare to the newer theaters so the quality is not worth the price
