Our group had a fantastic time on the river. We are from all around the country and visited Columbus while at Fort Benning's basic training graduation. We had no idea what to expect. When approaching the downtown Columbus area to go whitewater rafting, one might be a little skeptical. The river can be very calm or high, fast, and thrilling depending on how much water Georgia power releases. We chose the thrill, and the rapids were at about a 4. It is very very likely you will capsize if you choose the thrilling ride so be ready! Although 2 of us stayed on our raft, everyone else took a drink, including our guide, Seaver. Ask for him!! He made our visit extra fun by donning a clown mask. Our pictures turned out great!! Best of all-- above being able to keep our raft afloat during most of the turbulence-- his directions were decisive and clear yet he was friendly and patient. The rafting only lasts about an hour so if you're looking for a memorable activity without a lot of production or hassle...this is it!!
Had blast here with my daughter and grand sin, we did the zip line and I have to give our guides (WISH I COULD REMEMBER THEIR NAMES) a big thumbs up, high five and even a raise if it was up to me because without them I woukd not have never made through the bridges and all that you had to cross to get from one line to the other, they literally stood on the wires so it wouldn't wobble after they had found out about my conditions and was told another story on the phone about the zip lines but over all we had a blast cause if the guides helping me through it all. Thanks you guys and I know if they read this they will know who I'm talking about, I'm the one that had 2 lower back surgeries and couldn't do the area things.
This trip was a blast! Our guide was awesome (pretty sure all the guides are) and we really got to see some action! Definitely go if you haven't!
Great staff, outdoors selection and entertainment. Rafting and zip line are worth it, high water is much better than low.
My 8 year old daughter and I had a blast on the ropes course on the Alabama side of the river. She's looking forward to being old enough to experience the rest. Must do while in Columbus and Phenix City.
