Day 2: I went back, unaccompanied, with the needed parts. Joe took them and asked Mike to help him reassemble the strut tower. Mike put the strut spacer (washer) on upside down. I told him it was on wrong and even showed him how it was supposed to be. He took it back in and fixed it and as he handed me the part I requested my old parts (they had said the old strut wasn't bad, and I elected to go ahead and use the new one). He proceeded to tell me that they where "in there on the floor" and walked off. After a few heated words with Joe regarding the disrespect I had been shown by them both and Mike interjecting saying he didn't know I wanted HIM to give them to me, my parts were boxed by Joe and given back to me and I left. They have lost my business forever. I will never return and will never refer anyone to them.
Went to have my brake lines flushed and refilled. I had changed my brakes the day before and was pretty sure I had air in the break lines. I took it up there and was told that I messed up doing my brake job and I needed a new master cylinder for $570. All this without an inspection. I took my car to Midas and was told I had air in my brake lines. They flushed my system and sent me on my way for $60. Oh and one more thing, the master cylinder job at Midas would have been $340. This was my first and last experience with Meineke. What a bunch of crooked mother ....
Had an exhaust problem and was recommend to stop by this shop. They lifted the car and asked me to come round and they took the time and pointed out some of the issues I was having and what they recommended. I was even given and estimate and I more likely will be returning to get the repairs done real soon. I had also some bolts loose under there cause my exhaust to drop down they reinstalled the bolts did some welding on it. It relieved me of so much stress and I like the business and I visually got to see what needed replacing and I'm happy with the work i received so far. So its safe to say my experience was good.
To post here atleast one star has to be given. They didn't earn it at all.
So I go in for an obvious brake caliper that is having issues. When I see the estimate they are charging me $110 for a brake caliper on my vehicle. When asked where the part will come from, they say AutoZone. So I look up the price of the part and it is $65 with a $45 core charge. Plus they are charging me a full hours labor to begin with for a 30 minute job. Well the price of the part and core add up to $110, so I ask why I'm being charged full price for the part if they are getting the core back. Mind you, I was told that they are returning the part for the core charge. I was told I was paying labor on the part. Labor on the part?! That didn't even make sense. So basically you are charging me $45 for a part that is only $65, plus you will get the $45 back on the part when you go to AutoZone. After I conveniently pointed this out, he told me he was knocking off a half hour labor because I didn't need my brake line replaced. They then proceed to charge me $39.95 for bleeding my brakes, which consisted of pumping my brakes and loosening the bleeder valve on the backside of the caliper, which took all of 60 seconds. I usually do things myself but I was 64 miles away from home without my tools and couldn't drive my vehicle home in that condition. So in essence, I get taken for a ride at a place that clearly has on the front sign, "Whatever it takes. Simple honesty." I know honesty and that's not honesty. Oh yeah and must I also mention they picked up my entire vehicle and the only thing touching the lift was the grease fitting. I pointed this out and asked that he not lift my vehicle by the grease fitting and all he said was, "oh yeah I see that" Thankfully it doesn't appear broken but I take great pride in my vehicle and will not ever be going back to these guys again.
Day 1: I was treated very rudely at the Columbus, GA location, and i'm wondering if it was because I am a woman or worse yet because I am an Afican American woman. I was accompanied by a friend, who is male, to have a strut replaced. As I was explaining to the machanic (Joe) what I needed, my friend went to my car to get a part. Joe just walked away as if I wasn't talking to him. Then returned when my friend returned. I explained exactly what I needed and he acted as if he didn't understand that once the assembly had been broken down I needed to know the condition of the strut mount plate and the spring seat, and if needed I would go purchase them and bring them back the next day. In frustration I asked my friend to explain what I needed to Joe. He still didn't seem to get it. I tried to explain it to him again, to no avail. Finally another machanic came over and listened to me and was able to help Joe understand that all I wanted that day was to have the darn thing unassembled.
I love the mechanic shop Meineke in Savannah, GA, but went to this one thinking I would receive the same hospitality and was disappointed. NOT A VERY GOOD STAFF, PRICES FOR OIL CHANGE ARE HIGHER HERE THAN IN SAVANNAH GA AND THERE BOTH UNDER THE SAME COMPANY...........I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT AT ALL.
