Dr AD Patel has been one of the best Dr's I have had. The wait at times can be a bit long, but it's worth the wait to see him.
I made an appointment and was called in to come earlier. Melissa the receptionist was very rude! She told me that I need a referral. I explained to her I have Tricare for life because I'm disable, and my husband is active duty. She stated, she never heard of that (In a unprofessional way) I offered to give her the 800# and the claims address so she can verify I can go to any doctor without a referral. She refuse to take my information, then called Crystal on the phone. I'm standing there listening to them stating I don't know who made this appointment, she has Tricare, then I hear she has Medicare. When I said, I have part A not B, Melissa rudely told me you just wait. Then she gets off the phone went and got a print out showing I have Tri-care Prime and I need a referral. I told her it's in the system that way because my child has Tri-care Prime. I called Tri-care for Life it front of her. The insurance company asked can they speak to her and she said, NO! She then wrote on a paper Crystal's name and number. Ok, the insurance company put me on hold, and said that they explained to Crystal that I have Tri-care for Life, I can go to ANY provider I want Without a referral and they stated the claim will be paid, and Crystal said, I don't believe you. The Agent told me he's never heard a provider talk like this, and he can not make them see me. I asked Melissa can I speak to the office Manager. She walked away for awhile then came back and said, Lynn just got into her Van and left. Feel free to leave your name and number. First of all, she should have called my insurance company to verified coverage that's her job. Second of all to speak to a disabled person like that and her husband is deployed speaks volume to her character and demeanor. Third of all, if I'm in a Gastro Specialist you know I don't feel good and this is the treatment I get? I will file a complaint with Tri-care so they won't send military family to this facility especially when they don't appreciate our service to this Country. Please stay far away from t his office!
They have no respect for the value of other people's time. After sitting in the waiting room for an hour and a half, I left never having seen the doctor for my test results. I will never use this practice again. I wanted to give them zero stars.
